CSSA National Meeting - June 4, 2011

>> Sunday, May 29, 2011

Good evening!

Please be advised there will be a 2012 CSSA National meeting on June 4th. The meeting will be held at Kelsey’s Restaurant, 45 Chisholm Dr, Milton, ON. Thank you Kathy Bates for arranging this location. The meeting will be at 1 pm.

We are asking that everyone interested in helping out with National please bring your enthusiasm, great ideas, and of course your appetite as this will be a working lunch. We have less than a year before the big event, so it is time to really buckle down and get things going.

Donna McCulloch (Trophy Chair) would appreciate if those people who are planning to attend, could let her know so the committee has an idea of numbers for the restaurant. Either call Donna at 519-363-3828 or email her.

If you need further directions to the restaurant you can contact Kathy Bates at kathy.bates@sympatico.ca or by phone 905-864-0965.

The 2012 National Committee are hoping to make this the best CSSA National to date, and with your help this can be accomplished.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Regional Specialty - Request for Trophy Donations

>> Monday, February 14, 2011

Good morning all
I’m sure we are all patiently waiting for spring to arrive. Well, a sure sign of spring has arrived.....the posting of the ASSA National Premium list.....finally. I’m sure many of you are planning to attend as it is once again fairly close to home. Speaking of home, as you all know we will be hosting our 2011 CSSA Ontario South Regional Specialty on May 14th.

I am again depending on the generosity of our Ontario South members to make this specialty the financial success that we have enjoyed in the past. I have a list of the trophies available for sponsorship for this year, please email me for the file.

If you would like to sponsor a trophy please let me know. All the trophies were sponsored the past two years and I am hoping the we can do this again this year. Remember all profits from this Regional will be going towards the 2012 National.

Thank you and see you at the shows.

Once you've made your choice the ballot needs to be mailed back to Donna Roadhouse, the new CSSA Secretary, by January 31st, 2011. All regular and life memberships of CSSA are eligible to vote (associate, junior and foreign members cannot vote). Note that the joint regular memberships only have one vote.

Safe journeys for anyone travelling.

Call for Logo for 2012 National

>> Wednesday, November 17, 2010

I would like to ask once again for all the talented sheltie folks to please help us out.

We are still looking for a few more suggestions for our 2012 National logo/slogan. The logo and slogan should include something to attract sheltie folks to Southern Ontario for the National to be held in Ancaster, Ontario (near Hamilton)

If you have any ideas you would like to submit, could you please do so by November 26th. Email them directly to me with as much detail as possible. Drawn out would be great.

I have several submissions already, but wanted to make sure that everyone who wished to submit an idea could do so.

Looking forwarding to seeing all the creative ideas.
Thanks in advance.

A Successful Grooming Seminar

>> Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Hi All

I just wanted to send a little report about our CSSA Ontario South, Grooming Seminar that was held on Sat. Nov. 13th, at Campaign Dog Academy.

Rachel Pratt instructed a very eager group of Sheltie owners. Rachel shared her many grooming tips and techniques that she has mastered over the years. Those in attendance enjoyed a wonderful day of education, camaraderie, and good old sheltie talk.

I would like to thank Rachel for sharing her knowledge with us, and for taking the time to answer any and all questions.

Also, thank you to Deb Desjardine for allowing us to use her wonderful facility.

And a huge thank you to Cathie Kraemer, my right hand woman, for all her help with the organizing of the seminar and for putting on such a wonderful lunch.

Last but not least, thank you to all who attended. I’m sure everyone went away having learned something new.

The seminar was a huge success and we raised over $600.00 toward the 2012 National fund.

A great time was had by all.
